Christmas & New Year fishing trips

A little time on the water, between the holiday plans.

Visiting family somewhere you do not usually fish? We research a place to go, how to get there, and what to try with your gear. You choose the hours you can spare.

A few hours between family plans

A nearby bank, pier, or stretch of river that fits the time you can get away, including the drive back.

An outing with someone along

A child, a parent, or a friend trying fishing for the first time. Tell us about walking distance, gear, and comfort in the cold.

A choice of days during your stay

Have some flexibility? Compare up to three fishing days from one trip base and keep a backup for changing conditions.

Start with the place you are visiting

Winter fishing looks different from place to place.

A stocked-trout morning

Texas's Neighborhood Fishin' program stocks rainbow trout in winter, generally from late November or early December through March. Check the current stocking information, then choose access and tackle suited to a short visit.

A visit to colder country

Start with open access, the water source, and a realistic amount of time outside. Tell us about anyone coming along, walking limits, and your gear. Conditions may call for a shorter outing or a different waterbody.

Air vs. water temperature

A coastal winter break

A shore outing still needs a plan for access, local rules, tides, and surf conditions. Tell us whether you are bringing tackle or need to get equipped near your destination.

Where to go and how to fish it, built around one day and the hours you have.

Plan one fishing day

We review your purchase within 24 hours, then email your full questionnaire. After your completed questionnaire arrives, your plan is due within five days or two days before fishing, whichever is earlier. 7 days' notice minimum.

Full refund if we decline, miss delivery, or cannot find legal water within your limits. Delivery and refund terms.

Before you choose your dates

Can you plan around just a few hours?

Yes. Share the hours you can fish, the place you are staying, and how far you can travel. We research an outing that fits, or explain when a useful plan is not feasible.

What if I do not have gear with me?

Tell us before research starts. Your plan can cover what to bring or obtain locally. Gear, rentals, licenses, and guided services are separate purchases.

What if I book well before the trip?

Your plan includes a human review near the trip, with relevant access, rules, and reports rechecked. We email what changed or confirm the plan still holds. Check the free forecast closer to your outing for near-term conditions.
