The Wyoming Game and Fish Department stocks millions of fish a year from its own hatcheries, which keep eleven captive broodstocks of trout and kokanee, and it trades trout and trout eggs with other states for the walleye, bass and other warm-water fish it also stocks. Stocking runs from about April until the heat of summer in mid-July, and again from mid-September to mid-November once the water cools. Every stocking since 1985 is in the online Fish Stocking Report.
